Refund policy
Returns & Refund Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
At PageLite, we want our returns and refunds process to be clear, fair and transparent.
This policy applies to purchases made through the PageLite online store and is intended to operate in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA").
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights that a consumer may have under applicable South African law.
1. Change-of-Mind Returns
PageLite does not generally offer full refunds simply because a customer has changed their mind, no longer wants the product, ordered the wrong product, or has found an alternative product elsewhere, except where a statutory cooling-off right applies.
7-Day Cooling-Off Period for Eligible Online Purchases
Where the cooling-off provisions of ECTA apply, you may cancel an eligible online purchase without providing a reason within 7 days after receiving the goods.
If you exercise this statutory right:
-
You must contact PageLite within the applicable 7-day period.
-
You will be responsible only for the direct cost of returning the goods to us.
-
The goods should be returned with all components, accessories and packaging supplied with them wherever reasonably possible.
-
Once your cancellation has been processed in accordance with applicable law, you will receive the refund required by law.
-
Refunds falling under this statutory cooling-off right will be processed within the period required by ECTA.
To request a cancellation or return, contact:
Please do not return an item before contacting us. We will provide you with the appropriate return instructions.
2. PageLite 50% Goodwill Refund Policy
After the applicable statutory cooling-off period has expired, PageLite generally does not accept change-of-mind returns.
However, PageLite may, at its discretion, approve a voluntary return request made within 30 days of delivery.
Where PageLite agrees to accept such a return and no statutory right to a full refund applies:
-
The customer will receive a refund equal to 50% of the purchase price of the returned item.
-
The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
-
Original delivery charges are not refundable under this voluntary return arrangement.
-
The item must be returned in a condition reasonably suitable for resale.
-
The product must include its original components and accessories.
-
PageLite reserves the right to refuse this voluntary return option where the product has been damaged, materially altered, excessively used, or returned incomplete.
This 50% refund arrangement is a voluntary PageLite goodwill policy and does not replace, restrict or reduce any refund, repair, replacement or return right that you may have under South African law.
3. Defective, Unsafe or Poor-Quality Products
All goods supplied by PageLite remain subject to the statutory warranty and consumer rights provided by the Consumer Protection Act.
If a product is defective, unsafe, materially faulty, of unacceptable quality, or is not reasonably suitable for the purpose for which goods of that type are generally intended, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Where the requirements of the CPA are met and the issue arises within the applicable statutory period, including the statutory six-month warranty period where applicable, you may be entitled to return the product without penalty and exercise the remedies provided by law.
Depending on the circumstances and your rights under the CPA, this may include your choice of:
-
a repair;
-
a replacement; or
-
a refund of the purchase price.
Where PageLite is legally responsible for the return of defective goods, the return will be handled at PageLite's risk and expense as required by law.
The 50% goodwill refund rule does not apply to valid defective-product claims covered by the CPA.
4. Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged, you receive the incorrect product, or an item is materially different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at:
Please include:
-
your order number;
-
a description of the problem; and
-
photographs or video showing the product and issue, where reasonably possible.
Providing photographs or video helps us investigate the issue more quickly but does not remove any rights you may have under applicable law.
Where PageLite confirms that an incorrect product was supplied, or where the customer otherwise has a right to a remedy under applicable consumer law, PageLite will provide the appropriate remedy.
5. Custom and Personalised Products
Products that are made specifically to a customer's specifications or are clearly personalised may not qualify for the ordinary ECTA 7-day cooling-off right.
This includes, where applicable, customised or personalised PageLite products such as products manufactured or engraved using a design, image, name, wording or specification submitted by the customer.
Once production of a custom or personalised product has begun, we generally do not accept change-of-mind cancellations or voluntary returns.
However, custom and personalised products remain protected by applicable South African consumer law.
If a personalised or custom product is defective, damaged, incorrectly manufactured, or does not materially match the specifications accepted by PageLite, please contact us so that the matter can be assessed and the legally appropriate remedy provided.
6. Products Damaged by the Customer
PageLite may decline a refund, replacement or repair where the problem was caused after delivery by circumstances for which PageLite is not responsible, including, where applicable:
-
misuse or abuse of the product;
-
accidental damage;
-
failure to follow supplied instructions;
-
unauthorised modification;
-
attempted repairs by the customer or another third party;
-
improper storage or maintenance; or
-
ordinary wear and tear where the complaint does not amount to a defect covered by law.
This does not affect rights that cannot legally be excluded.
7. How to Request a Return or Refund
Before returning any product, contact:
Please provide:
-
your full name;
-
your order number;
-
the product concerned;
-
your reason for requesting the return or refund; and
-
photographs or video where the request relates to damage or a defect.
We will review your request and provide return instructions where applicable.
Do not send products back without first receiving return instructions from PageLite.
Unauthorised parcels may be delayed or may not be capable of being properly identified and processed.
8. Refund Processing
Where a refund has been approved, refunds will normally be made to the original payment method used for the purchase unless otherwise required or agreed.
Banking and payment-provider processing times may cause a delay between PageLite issuing a refund and the funds appearing in your account.
Where legislation specifies a particular period within which a refund must be made, PageLite will process the refund in accordance with that statutory requirement.
9. Return Shipping
Return-shipping responsibility depends on the reason for the return.
For an eligible change-of-mind cancellation under the ECTA cooling-off provisions, the customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the product.
For a voluntary PageLite 50% goodwill return, the customer is responsible for return shipping.
Where goods qualify for return at PageLite's risk and expense under the CPA because they are defective, unsafe or otherwise fail to meet the applicable statutory standards, PageLite will bear the return costs as required by law.
10. Abuse and Fraudulent Claims
PageLite reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent or abusive refund or return claims.
This may include situations involving altered products, false claims of non-delivery, deliberate product damage, substitution of products, or repeated misuse of our voluntary return arrangements.
Nothing in this section permits PageLite to refuse a legitimate statutory consumer claim.

If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of South African law, the applicable law will take precedence.
